DeviantArt really ruined the search feature. Now I have nonsensical results when I search for something without tags. It's all over the place. In fact, when you search for some obscure character, such as... uh, the main character from Zool, you'll just get a bunch of unrelated pictures! On one search result, I had to scroll down over 50 pages to find a exact match from looking at "this century" What happened to the "Way back" feature that CORE users had? They need to fix the search algorithm, as tagged searches only go back as far as the introduction of the tag system back in 2015. Edit: Also, searching with quotations isn't much better. Still you get a bunch of unrelated pictures, but slightly less.
